On October 27, the 149th Robotics Engineering Seminar organized by RSJ and titled ‘Robots and Mechanisms’ was held on-line. Professor Kakogawa delivered a lecture on the topic, ‘Robot Mechanism Research and Social Implementation’ during the sixth session from 16:00 to 16:50. 機構とは機械的な入力を所望の出力に変換する装置であり、ロボティクスにおいては主にギア，リンク，カム，ベルト，クラッチなどの装置を示します．こうした機構は古いものでは紀元前から存在するため，機構学は既に完成した古い学問と思われるかもしれません．しかし，今なお新しい機構が発明され続けロボティクスの発展に寄与しています．例えば，近年ではソフトロボティクスの台頭により，これまで注目されていなかった柔らかい機械装置の研究が盛んになっています．本セミナーでは，伝統的な装置から最新のソフトロボットまで様々な機構を研究している講師にご講演頂きます．</p>
