In this study, we evaluated the effectiveness of a sensorless weight estimation method for the bucket-type end effector “Rolling Hand II,” which is designed for handling viscous materials and powders. The proposed technology is expected to have broad applications in various fields, including manufacturing and food processing.
This work was developed through collaborative research with Professor Kawamura (Ritsumeikan Global Innovation Research Organization). The end effector (robot hand) used in this study partially incorporates a reducer currently under development by Sumitomo Heavy Industries Ltd..
