Professor Kakogawa’s research project has been selected for the FY2026 Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT) Grants-in-Aid for Scientific Research on Water Supply and Sewerage. Under the research project titled “Development of a Practical Inspection Robot for Regional Sewer Force Mains Insertable through a Reducer Tee Connection,” we will work on the development and field validation of a self-propelled inspection robot for regional sewer force mains that are accessible only through 75-mm-diameter branch pipes used for air valves and maintenance valves.
This research project was selected under the New Research Project Category (1), “Advanced Maintenance Technologies for Water Supply and Sewerage Pipelines to Enhance Safety in Underground Infrastructure and Promote Automation and Labor Saving.”
